HNIN WAI HNIN DIE LIVING LEGacy FUND

Hnin Wai Hnin (pronounced “Nin Way Nin”) was a giver. Hnin kept cash in the car to help strangers fill their cups. They worked tirelessly to improve the conditions for workers and communities across our food systems. If visiting Hnin’s house, it was impossible to leave without a treat or trinket in tow. And as a friend and partner, Hnin showered us with care, humor, wit and honesty as their truest expression of love.

In Hnin’s last months of life, Hnin and Aaron (spouse) tenderly shaped a hope to give others facing sure death some light in their depths of darkness. Hnin often remarked that they were the “luckiest unluckiest” person. Their tragic CMML diagnosis was unlucky, to put it mildly. But if one had to die, Hnin had time to prepare. They had resources from their savings and giving community. And they manifested a loving and laughter filled home, surrounded by deep friendship and chosen family.

The Die Living Legacy Fund seeks to honor the giving legacy of Hnin Wai Hnin.
